The company was founded in 2014 by serial entrepreneurs with commercial experience, alongside some of the world's leading researchers from the Nobel Prize-winning faculty at NTNU. Today, the company is the 41st fastest-growing technology company in Norway and is mentioned in the government's 2020-2029 activity plan for physical activity. - Knut Løkke, CEO and Co-Founder of Myworkout
In the early 1990s, Jan Hoff and Jan Helgerud made groundbreaking advancements in sports science, which were instrumental in transforming Rosenborg into a dominant force in Norwegian football. Their innovative training methods led them to work with prestigious teams like Celtic, Real Madrid, and Barcelona.
In 2003, the national skiing team underwent a generational shift, needing to cultivate new talent. Jan and Jan's intense 4x4 interval training greatly boosted Marit Bjørgen and her teammates' maximum oxygen uptake. Turning Bjørgen into an Olympic-winning endurance athlete.
Jan & Jan demonstrated that high-intensity interval training (HIIT) significantly improves cardiovascular and functional health in patients with chronic conditions, such as coronary artery disease (CAD) and stroke. Paving the way for innovative rehabilitation programs.
Their latest stunt involved going to California to train the already older and famous Nolan Bushnell (Founder of Atari and Steve Jobs mentor) to demonstrate that age doesn't matter. To state Nolan, “your stuff works.” He also inadvertently coined what later became our slogan: More Life.
Born out of three decades of research, the fitness app Myworkout GO was developed. The Norwegian Directorate of Health has approved the app for measuring biological age in a medical context and has assessed our commitment to privacy and compliance, awarding us top marks across all parameters. Other governments in Europe and North America are set to follow that example.
Jan and Jan's research demonstrates that 4x4 maximal strength training significantly improves neural drive, and functional performance, but also alleviates neuromuscular symptoms. It the closest approach we have to reversing these conditions. It effectively removes many of the symptoms, advocating for the implementation of 4x4 maximal strength as an effective rehabilitation strategy to improve the quality of life.
